Andrew is a Strategic Partnership Manager in the Innovative Partnerships team, sitting in the Science, Innovation and International Branch of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. The Innovative Partnerships programme helps research and development-intensive businesses connect, collaborate and invest in New Zealand. We engage with innovative companies that are pushing the boundaries of technology and solving the world’s big problems, and assist them in finding their New Zealand opportunity. We can help connect these companies with the right people, businesses, agencies, research organisations and universities.
Andrew started his career with a decade working in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, including a diplomatic posting to Indonesia. He has also worked in security, intelligence and economic policy. In the private sector for seven years, he was a management consultant in Australia and the Middle East.
Since moving to New Zealand, Andrew has worked mainly at MBIE, including in the Enterprise Policy team working on policy to enable SME growth and developing management capability across the economy.
