Martin Woodbridge is an consultant specialising in pharmaceuticals and public health.
Since 2007, he has been involved in various aspects of cannabis-based medicines including policy and regulations, health professional education, regulatory affairs and auditing.
This includes, strategy and operations advice for industry development initiatives in Europe, and good regulatory practice and public policy in Thailand and New Zealand, alongside auditing services in Australia. He has engaged with and provided advice for government medicine regulators and policy groups, and undertaken training workshops for health professionals across the Asia-Pacific.
He is the lead author of ‘A primer to medicinal cannabis’. Given the hype and misinformation around these medicines, the primer is intended as an objective, easy to read resource for regulators, policy groups and health professionals.
Martin is keen to see that New Zealand learn from the experiences of other jurisdictions. He will lead discussions on the need for robust workable policies, to undertake sensible investments, promote an environment of trust and collaboration, and to strive for an industry characterised by self-regulation, research, continuous product and services development.
