Anna Campbell has a PhD in plant biotechnology and has worked for a number of years in plant and livestock genetic improvement. She joined AbacusBio in 2007, a private company, bridging science and business and operating in 20 countries, where she has been the Managing Director for the past five years.
Anna’s interest in the medical cannabis industry is in establishing breeding and data management programmes to develop new cultivars targeted at human-disease outcomes. This is done in parallel with breeding for production and plant disease resistance traits.
Anna is also a Director of Genomics Aoteoroa, Otago Innovation Limited & the Otago Cricket Association. She was recently named the Otago Daily Times Business Leader of the year.
