Mark Lucas

Mark heads up the first NZX listed medicinal cannabis company, Cannasouth. 
 Based in the Waikato, Mark and the team have established state-of-the-art research laboratories and cannabis cultivation facilities. 

Cannasouth was one of the first companies in New Zealand to receive medicinal cannabis research licences for both the cultivation and extraction of cannabinoids.
The company’s goal is to develop next-generation cannabinoid therapeutics to support patient health outcomes and improve their quality of life. 

Mark has been involved in the industrial hemp industry in New Zealand since 1995 and was involved in some of the country’s first licenced hemp growing trials in 2002. Mark’s business background spans 25 years. He is an entrepreneur by nature with a passion for business and has been involved in a number of ventures from initial conception through to mature, well-established companies.
